Itinerary for a 6 night home stay language tour in ANGERS
- DAY 1
- Depart your school by coach for Portsmouth. Embarkation on a Brittany Ferry crossing at 08:15 hrs.
- Disembarkation in Caen-Ouistreham at 15:00 hrs. Transfer by coach to your home stay centre with appropriate stops.
- Arrival in Angers and introduction to host families at 19:30 hrs.
- Full-board accommodation for 6 nights.
- DAY 2
- 08:30 hrs – 11:30 hrs : language lessons in small teaching groups.
- Picnic lunch. In the afternoon depart for Angers to visit Terra Botanica, the first park offering interactive exchanges with the world of plants and vegetables.
- Return to the host families at the end of the afternoon
- DAY 3
- 08:30 hrs – 11:30 hrs : language lessons in small teaching groups.
- Picnic lunch. Free time for shopping in Angers.
- Then, depart by coach in the afternoon to visit the Cointreau Distillery : visit of the distillery to see how the famous orange flavoured liqueur is made.
- Then, visit of the Jean Lurçat Museum. Constructed at the end of the 12th century, the hospital Saint Jean houses the ‘Chant du Monde’ tapestry by Jean Lurçat which is the contemporary response to the Apocalypse Tapestry in Angers Castle.
- Meet your host families at 18:30 hrs.
- DAY 4
- Depart your home stay centre by coach for Poitiers to visit one of France’s best known theme parks, the Futuroscope.
- Experience live action in any of the “Cinémas Dynamiques”, dive into the deep blue sea and come face to face with magnificent creatures with ‘Deep Sea 3D’, hurl headlong at 100 miles per hour on a fun-filled journey with ‘Dynamic Vienne’, canoe down the Nile, a feat worthy of the Pharaohs with ‘Mystery of the Nile’ and don’t miss the blockbuster attraction : ‘Dare to dance with a robot’.
- Or just admire the futuristic architecture as you wander round the park to visit as many of its attractions as you can fit into your day.
- Evening return by coach to your home stay centre.
- DAY 5
- 08:30 hrs – 11:30 hrs : language lessons in small teaching groups.
- Picnic lunch. In the afternoon, depart by coach for Montsoreau to visit the castle.
- The scenography will take you on a journey along the Loire Valley and introduce you to the ‘Dame de Montsoreau’, heroine of a famous book by Alexandre Dumas.
- A treasure hunt with language exercices will be proposed to the students : ‘EnQuête de la Dame de Montsoreau’. Return by coach to meet the families at 18:30 hrs.
- DAY 6
- 08:30 hrs – 11:30 hrs : language lessons in small teaching groups.
- Picnic lunch. In the afternoon, the group will be divided into two groups.
- While the first group will be attending a cookery workshop (1.30hrs) to learn how to make the famous ‘Macarons’, the second one will be shopping in the centre of the town.
- Then, they will swap activities.
- Meet your host families by the castle at 18:00 hrs.
- DAY 7
- At 07:30hrs, depart your home stay centre by coach for Caen-Ouistreham.
- Embarkation on Brittany ferry crossing to Portsmouth at 16:30 hrs.
- Disembarkation in Portsmouth at 21:15 hrs.
- Direct transfer to your school.
